Lucyisms

Odds are good that this post that will bore most readers, unless said readers are grandparents, or Lucy enthusiasts. But then, maybe such a disclaimer is unnecessary, because who ISN'T a Lucy enthusiast? ;)

Our sweet baby girl is getting more and more grown up everyday. Sad, exciting, crazy, and wonderful, all at the same time.

Something I love about her age is that she is starting to parrot us and is doing all she can to say words. DAR-LING! Her little voice is so cute and chock full of personality...for example, it's not uncommon for her to start babbling, then quiet herself to a whisper, and then turn her whisper into a gravelly growl-ish voice, etc... You never know what you are going to hear when Lucy starts to chat, and that is just one of the things we adore about this girl.

Here are several of the words in Lucy's growing vernacular...

-"Cheese" (not such a surprise to those who know the girl)
-"Ball" (she picked this one up from her buddy Daniel)
-"Jesus" (pronounced "Cheesis")
-"Bye Bye" (this just came out yesterday and I about melted! It sounds more like "buh buh")
-"Dada"
-"Mama"
-"This" (which is heard all day long: as soon as she sees something she wants and can't get access to on her own, she will repeatedly say "dis, dis" while pointing.)
-"That" (pronounced "dat" and used in similar context to "this")
-"Banana" (pronounced "nana")
-"Num num" (which, unfortunately, sounds alot like "nana." Poor girl probably chokes down way more bananas than she'd prefer, but we're just doing our best to figure out this communication thing; thank goodness she is so patient with us. In the meantime, go buy stock in Chiquita -- you can thank us later.)
-"Temple" (pronounced "pehpel." This one came out yesterday while at the temple for a primary activity -- it was precious!)
-"Papa" (referring to Grandpa. She's a smart one, that Lucy Lu. She knows where her sweet talk will get the most bang for her buck;)

And lets not forget her choo choo sound for trains and her engine sound for cars. Oh heavens, how we love this girl:)

This is Lucy's REALLY happy face. Like, REALLY REALLY happy.
We see it a lot around these parts and I couldn't be more grateful.
