We are now the proud owners of the Chicco Cortina Discovery travel system:) Okay, so maybe no congratulations are needed. It may not seem like an accomplishment at all to have a travel system, but let us explain...
We registered for this little number months ago and were thrilled when we did because that meant we both liked it:) We had made a decision...as parents.
Fast forward to a month ago.
My mom called me a few days before my baby shower to let me know that the group gift was originally going to be the travel system.
"Originally?"
"Yes" she said. "Its been recalled."
"WHAT!?!?"
Turns out that when she went to pick it up, the store informed her that they were no longer allowed to sell any Chicco travel systems and had no information as to whether they would ever be back on the shelves. Great. We make one of our first "child-safety" decisions as parents and the product is recalled. We're going to be really good at this whole parenting thing, we can tell.
Well being the persistent mom that I am, I decided to try and find out why it had been recalled and if it would ever be back on the market. Long and pointless story short, I did, and it is, and now it is ours. (And it is completely safe -- we promise).
Now we're 1 step closer to being ready...well, at least we'll be able to bring the boy home from the hospital.

It looks very cute! It took us (well me) forever to decide on a travel system! I hope these last weeks aren't too bad. Thanks for leaving me so much stuff in the classroom...it will defintley make next year and prep a LOT easier:)
